Instructions
- 1
Step 1

The recipe works with fillets of any white or red fish. You can use fresh or frozen fish. If using frozen fish, thaw it beforehand by transferring it from the freezer to the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. Today I'm using muksun. The fish is already gutted, without head, fins, or tail.

Step 2

Rinse the fillet and dry it thoroughly. If you have a whole fish, clean and fillet it yourself. Be sure to remove all large bones with tweezers; you can leave the skin on.
- 3
Step 3

Cut the prepared fillet into portion pieces.
- 4
Step 4

Salt and pepper. You can use a ready-made fish spice mix. Let it marinate.
- 5
Step 5

Meanwhile, place the grated carrots and diced onion into a heated pan with oil.
- 6
Step 6

There's no need to sauté the vegetables; just cook them until soft. Season the carrots and onions with salt and pepper to taste.
- 7
Step 7

Grease a heatproof dish with oil. Place the fillet skin-side down.
- 8
Step 8

Spread the carrot-onion mixture on top.
- 9
Step 9

Then pour everything with sour cream.
- 10
Step 10

Place the pan in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 25–30 minutes. The exact time depends on the size of the pieces, your equipment, ingredients, and personal preferences.

Step 11

The white fish is ready. Transfer to a plate and serve.
