
Bread loaf made with kefir
Description
This recipe won’t take long. There’s no need to go to the bakery for a loaf if you only have 100 ml of kefir at home—that’s enough to bake a delicious homemade loaf. I promise your family will love a hearty breakfast with this bake. Follow the step-by-step recipe—it’s very simple—and before long you’ll have this wonderful kefir loaf on your table. Serve cooled or lightly warm.

Prepare the ingredients.

Dissolve the dry instant yeast in water and let stand for 5 minutes.

Into your mixing bowl, add one third of the flour, then salt and sugar, and pour in the kefir.

Add softened butter and mix.

Pour in the yeast dissolved in water.

Add the remaining flour, knead the dough, and shape it into a ball. Brush the bowl with vegetable oil, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise for 1 hour.

After one hour, fold (or punch down) the dough for two minutes. Place it back in the bowl for 30 minutes.

Place the proofed dough on the work surface of the table, lightly dusted with flour, and roll it out into a sheet.

Roll the dough into a log, pinch the edges and the seam closed.

Place the shaped loaf seam-down on a baking sheet, cover with cling film (plastic wrap), and leave to rise for 30 minutes.

With a sharp knife, score the loaf of bread and brush it with water using a pastry brush. Bake at 200 °C for 40–45 minutes.
