
Homemade Basturma
Description
The snack is quick and easy to prepare. To make this dish, you will need a whole piece of beef. The thicker and larger it is, the longer the basturma will take to dry. You can store the meat in the refrigerator, wrapped in paper. It is an excellent snack with beer. To find out, the snack is ready. Serve immediately.

Put the dried garlic, turmeric, paprika, and cayenne pepper in a coffee grinder or blender bowl and grind until smooth. Transfer the spices to a jar and seal tightly with the lid.

Wash and dry the beef. Trim away any membranes and excess fat. Then add half the salt to a container and place the beef on top. Sprinkle the remaining salt over it and put the container in the refrigerator.

The beef should be kept in the refrigerator for two days. Throughout this time, periodically turn the piece of meat over and drain the liquid that has accumulated.

After two days, rinse the beef to remove the salt. Cut off a piece and taste it. If the meat is too salty, soak it in cold water for one hour. Then pat the meat dry with paper towels.

Mix the spice blend with three tablespoons of water. Rub the piece of meat with the resulting paste and hang it to dry in a draft. After four days, the basturma will be ready.
