Instructions

    Step 1

    Step 1

First, let's prepare the cream. Mix 5 egg yolks (from 5 eggs), vanilla sugar, and half of a grated lemon zest until smooth. Then add flour and mix again. Now gradually pour in some warm milk, stirring vigorously.

    Step 2

    Step 2

We start cooking our cream. Place it over low heat. You need to keep stirring the mixture all the time, so I recommend not getting distracted. You'll know the cream is fully ready when it thickens.

    Step 3

    Step 3

We start preparing the dough. As always, we begin by creaming the butter together with the sugar. Then we add the beaten egg white (left over from 5 eggs), one whole egg, and the second half of the grated lemon zest. Do not mix vigorously. Add the flour and baking powder; at this stage, thoroughly mix the dough with a spoon. Roll the resulting dough into a ball.

    Step 4

    Step 4

We start assembling our pie. To do this, set aside one quarter of the dough and reserve it. Place the remaining dough into a baking pan. Form the edges and smooth the dough evenly over the bottom of the pan. Spread all the cherries uniformly over the dough, then cover them with the reserved portion of dough, which you should first roll out.

    Step 5

Fold the edges of the pie and place banana slices on top for decoration. Then take one egg yolk, mix it with water, and brush the mixture over the top of the pie. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Once the pie has cooled, serve it.
