
Lamb with carrots
Description
Nothing beats lamb with carrots cooked in a multicooker on a cold winter day. The delicious sauce can be thickened with barley porridge. The result is a very tasty dish that's easy to prepare in a multicooker.

1. Set the multicooker to maximum heat to warm it up to the required temperature. Remove all excess fat from the lamb and cut the meat into 3 cm pieces.

2. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the meat until golden brown. Using a slotted spoon, remove the lamb from the pan and set aside.

3. Cut the onion into cubes and place in a frying pan, sauté over low heat for five minutes or until the onion turns golden-brown.

4. Add the onion and celery and cook for another three to four minutes, or until the carrots and celery begin to soften. Transfer the vegetables to the slow cooker.

5. Sprinkle the vegetables with barley porridge, then place the pieces of lamb on top. Lightly season with salt, pepper, and herbs. Pour the broth over the meat, making sure all the meat is covered with broth. Cover the multicooker and cook for 2 hours. Open the lid and skim off the foam. Close the lid again and continue cooking for another 4–6 hours, until the meat becomes tender.
