Baked Banana Pudding
Description
The taste of this banana pudding is amazing, it will delight all sweet lovers. I'd recommend following all the steps exactly, but if you'd like, you can replace the meringue with whipped cream, decorating the baked pudding with it afterwards—it will turn out great too.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
In a large saucepan, mix the sifted flour with salt.
- 2
Step 2
Add the condensed milk, pour in the milk, mix well, and place the saucepan on the stove (over low heat). While constantly stirring the mixture with a whisk, add the egg yolks one at a time. Cook the pudding for 7–8 minutes, until it thickens.
- 3
Step 3
Add vanilla extract and mix the pudding.
- 4
Step 4
Arrange 1/3 of the bananas, sliced into 1.5 cm thick rounds, in a single layer on the bottom of the baking dish.
- 5
Step 5
Spread 1/3 of the pudding on top, then layer 1/3 of the vanilla cookies.
- 6
Step 6
Repeat the layers two more times, but instead of placing the third layer of cookies on top, use them to decorate the edges of the pudding.
- 7
Step 7
Beat egg whites with a mixer at high speed until foamy. Gradually add sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form. Spread the beaten egg whites over the top layer of pudding.
- 8
Step 8
Bake the pudding for 25 minutes at 160 degrees, until the meringue turns light golden.
- 9
Step 9
Let the finished pudding cool for 30 minutes before serving.
