Banana cake with sour cream
Description
To make a banana cake with sour cream, you'll need rich sour cream, ripe bananas, a bit of vanilla extract, and nuts for decoration (optional). Sour cream-based batter turns out quite versatile, so I often bake cakes with other fruits as well. By the way, if you prefer larger fruit pieces in the batter, just slice the bananas into chunks.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Peel the bananas, slice them, then mash with a fork and add cinnamon.

Step 2

Beat the sugar with softened butter, then add the eggs one at a time, followed by the sour cream and vanilla extract. Mix everything together.
- 3
Step 3

Sift the flour separately, then add baking powder and salt.
- 4
Step 4

Mix the dry and wet ingredients until no lumps remain. Add the bananas.

Step 5

Grease the baking pan, spread the dough evenly, and bake for 35 minutes in a preheated oven at 175 degrees. Check for doneness with a toothpick—it should come out dry. If desired, you can make a cream and spread it over the finished cake: mix cream cheese with powdered sugar, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and milk if desired. You can also sprinkle the ready banana cake with sour cream with nuts or berries for decoration.

This is what the cake looks like when sliced.
