
Banana donuts with walnuts

Pour dark sugar into a bowl.

Sift all the flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg into the bowl with the sugar.

In another container, puree the bananas.

To the softened banana, add apple purée, vanilla extract, and an egg.

Mix vigorously.

Mix the resulting purée with the dry flour mixture.

Grease the donut pan with oil (olive or butter).

Fill the donut molds with our dough to about three-quarters full.

Bake for 17–20 minutes at 160–165°C. Then remove from the oven and cool.

It is best to cool the doughnuts on a rack. You could stop here, since the doughnuts are already done, but we will also make a glaze.

Mix cream cheese with powdered sugar and a small amount (1/4 tsp) of vanilla extract.

Mix and, while continuing to stir, add milk to the mixture. You should end up with a smooth, not-too-runny consistency.
