Description
Winter preserves at home. Today I want to share with you a rather unusual and very simple 5-minute banana jam recipe that will surprise you with its flavor and win you over with how easy it is to make. I generally don’t like spending a lot of time on such things, so when it comes to preserves, I try to pick the simplest options. I liked this jam right away—first, because I won’t have to fuss in the kitchen for long, and second, because it has such an interesting, slightly tangy taste that you’ll want to eat it again and again. You can also make 5-minute banana jam at home any time of year; the main thing is to find good ripe bananas at the store—everything else is as simple as can be. 1) First, prepare all the necessary ingredients. Peel the bananas and slice them into rounds. Wash the lemon thoroughly and dry it with a towel. Using a grater, remove the zest from the lemon and squeeze the juice from the flesh. Peel the ginger and mince it. 2) Now put the sliced bananas in a saucepan, add the lemon zest, its juice, the minced ginger, add the sugar, and pour in the water. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil; cook for a couple of minutes. 3) As soon as the bananas soften slightly, mash them with a fork or a potato masher, return the saucepan to the heat, and cook the jam, stirring, for another 5–7 minutes over medium heat. 4) Spoon the hot jam into jars and seal them tightly with lids, turn the jars upside down, and leave them until completely cool. Now you know how to can 5-minute banana jam, so with this recipe you can always quickly and easily prepare a wonderful treat for yourself and your loved ones. The jars keep for up to a year in a cool place.
