
Banana flambé
Description
This dessert is easy to prepare at home. All ingredients are readily available and can always be found at your nearest store or supermarket. Also, if for some reason you don't particularly like lime, you can easily substitute it with lemon. Choose any ice cream you like, or use vanilla ice cream as mentioned in the banana flambé recipe. Garnish with mint leaves and, if desired, add chocolate and coconut shavings. Make your dessert pleasant and attractive.

1. Before preparing banana flambé, squeeze the juice from the oranges.

2. Carefully grate the orange zest, making sure not to get the white bitter part.

3. Peel the bananas. Cut them in half first, then slice them lengthwise. Sauté in a small amount of butter.

4. In a non-stick skillet, melt the remaining butter. Pour in the freshly squeezed orange juice and add the juice of one lime. Add sugar to the hot juice mixture, stirring slowly, and cook to make a syrup. Do not let it boil. Once the sugar has completely dissolved (after about 3 minutes), remove from heat. Place the bananas into the syrup. Let them sit in the syrup for a short while so they absorb its flavor and aroma.

5. Place the bananas on a serving dish. Pour cognac over them. Ignite the mixture. Once the flames go out, transfer the banana pieces onto individual serving plates. Add two scoops of ice cream to each plate. Drizzle with syrup. Garnish the flambé as desired and delight your loved ones. Bon appétit!
