Potato babka with meat
Description
Milk is added to make the dish more tender. But you can easily do without it, that's up to you. Babka should be served hot and always with sour cream.
Instructions

Step 1

Peel the potatoes. Grate them on a fine grater. Do not drain the juice that remains. Add milk and salt to the potatoes, mix well.

Step 2

Cut the meat into small pieces. Peel the onion and finely chop it. Heat a skillet and add the meat and onion. There's no need to add oil, as the meat will release its own fat. Fry until a golden crust forms.

Step 3

Transfer the sauté from the frying pan, along with the rendered fat, to the grated potatoes. Mix well. Add black pepper to taste.

Step 4

Grease the baking dish with fat or vegetable oil. Transfer the mixture into the dish and place it in an oven preheated to 150 degrees. Bake for about an hour or longer. Cooking time depends on the baking dish and oven power. Check readiness with a toothpick.
