The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. This is probably one of the simplest recipes for azu. Minimal ingredients: just meat, cucumber, and onion, stewed in tomato sauce. The result is surprisingly delicious and very easy to recreate. A highlight of Tatar cuisine can effortlessly end up on your table. The finished dish is ready to be served.

2. First, wash and dry the meat, then cut it into thin strips. Slice the peeled onion and the pickled cucumber.

3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Add the onion and sauté for 3-5 minutes (until translucent).

4. Meanwhile, peel the potatoes and put them to boil in salted water. Sometimes potatoes are added directly into the azu and stewed together with the meat. In this case, mashed potatoes will be served as a side dish.

5. Add the meat to the fried onions. Cook over medium heat, stirring, for 5-7 minutes.

6. Add the cucumbers to the skillet. Sauté them for a couple of minutes, then pour in the tomato sauce. Carefully season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly and simmer over medium heat until fully cooked. The cooking time depends on how finely the meat is chopped.
