
Orange pie without eggs

1. Prepare the shortcrust dough: take sugar, salt, and softened butter. Rub all ingredients together into a homogeneous mixture. Add sifted flour and baking soda, and start kneading. Set aside one fifth of the dough and put it in the freezer—it will be used later for decoration.

2. Wash the orange and, without peeling, cut it into 4 pieces, remove the seeds, and place in a blender. Blend until a pulp forms (you can blend lightly if you prefer larger chunks to remain).

3. Transfer to a plate, add sugar, mix thoroughly, and refrigerate for at least two hours.

4. Roll out the dough according to the chosen pan size. You can place the dough into the pan and smooth it with your hands, as it is soft and elastic. Place the filling into the pan, making sure it is about one centimeter below the edges of the dough.

5. Take the dough out of the freezer and grate it on top for decoration.

6. Bake the pie at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 to 40 minutes. If you want a golden crust, you can leave it a bit longer. Alternatively, you can use the top grill function to achieve a golden crust.
