Orange chips
Description
Perfect for the table and with drinks. For the chips to be tasty, choose thin-skinned oranges; they should also be sweet and ripe. Drying the oranges in the oven takes quite a long time; it helps if the oven has a convection setting. Besides powdered sugar, you can sprinkle the chips with cinnamon, for example. You can serve and store them with mint. Serve with herbs and sauce.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Wash the oranges, remove the zest so the chips don’t turn bitter later, and slice the fruit into thin rings.

Step 2

If desired, sprinkle the orange slices with powdered sugar and let them stand for a while, as juice will form that needs to drain. Then arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in an oven preheated to 100–110°C to dry for about 4 hours.

Step 3

Turn the oranges over from time to time so they dry evenly. Store the finished orange chips in a closed jar so they don’t mold.

Step 4

The appetizer is ready. Serve to the table.
