
Orange-currant pastries
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The sweet-and-sour taste of these pastries will delight you. Serve chilled.

1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Mix together flour, wheat germ, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Add the zest of one orange and 1/3 cup of currants. Add the cream and mix.

2. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface. Gently shape it into a round ball. Flatten the ball into a circle 1 cm thick. Cut the circle into 8 triangles.

3. Place the resulting triangles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops and sides with melted butter. Bake the pastries until light golden, approximately 14-18 minutes, depending on your oven. Transfer the baked pastries to a wire rack and let them cool slightly. Serve the pastries with butter or icing.

4. To prepare the glaze, mix melted butter, orange juice, and powdered sugar in a small bowl. Pour the prepared glaze over the pastries, let it set, and serve.
