
Ancient Roman pie
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Sweet cake with a cottage cheese filling and a layer of your favorite jam. Cherry jam can be replaced with strawberry, raspberry, or any other jam of your choice. Details: serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Prepare the necessary ingredients. Take the butter out of the refrigerator in advance; it should be softened. Drain the cherries in a sieve to let excess syrup run off. Sift the flour.

Combine the flour, sugar, salt, and butter in the blender bowl, and blend until crumbly.

Add the eggs one by one, knead a uniform dough.

Line a removable baking pan (20 cm diameter) with parchment paper. Divide the dough into two parts: 2/3 and 1/3. Spread the larger portion over the bottom of the pan, forming a crust about 1 cm thick.

Spread the cottage cheese and cherry jam on top.

Roll out the remaining dough into a round sheet and cover the filling. Place the pie in a preheated oven at 180 °C to bake for 30–40 minutes.

Remove the pie from the parchment and let it cool completely on a rack.
