Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Use black tea, but you can also buy a flavored one, for example — with bergamot.
- 2
Step 2

Boil water in a kettle. Put the tea bags into a teapot and pour in the boiling water. Steep the tea for about 10-12 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Scald the lemon with boiling water and cut half of it into quarters. Place the slices in a saucepan and pour in the brewed tea.
- 4
Step 4

Add the granulated sugar and place the container on the stove. Add cinnamon and cloves as well. Optionally, include cardamom, star anise, and bay leaf. Choose the spices whose aroma you prefer.
- 5
Step 5

When the liquid is almost boiling, turn off the heat and pour the rum into it. You can use either light or caramel rum.
- 6
Step 6

Immediately pour the hot English grog into glasses or cups and serve it to your family or friends, as the drink is meant to be enjoyed only while hot.
