American donuts covered in chocolate
Description
The baking is simple and quick. Be careful when frying the donuts. They should be completely submerged in oil, and the heat should be such that the oil around the donuts simmers gently without boiling or bubbling vigorously. To decorate the donuts, use whatever your imagination suggests: various sprinkles, glazes, powdered sugar, whipped cream, and so on. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. Sift the flour several times, then add dry yeast, salt, and sugar to it.
- 2
Step 2

2. Melt the butter, use the fattest milk possible (3.2%) or add cream to it. The milk should be warm. You can replace vanilla extract with regular vanilla sugar.
- 3
Step 3

3. In a large container, mix all the ingredients with a mixer for 5-8 minutes. If kneading by hand, it will take about 15 minutes. The dough should be smooth and not stick to your hands.
- 4
Step 4

4. To let the dough rise, grease the bottom of the multicooker bowl with oil and place the dough inside. Let it rise for 30 minutes at 35 degrees. Without a multicooker, cover the pot with dough and place it in a warm spot for an hour.

Step 5

5. When the dough has risen, place it on the table (or silicone mat) to knead slightly. Roll out the dough into a sheet no thicker than 1 cm.

Step 6

6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the donut shapes onto it. It's best to cut the donuts out of the dough using a special cutter; if you don't have one, use a small-diameter pastry ring.
- 7
Step 7

7. There's no need to heat the oil in the pan too much, otherwise the donuts will turn out too dark. Place the donuts into the oil and fry on both sides over low heat. Keep in mind that the second side cooks faster.
- 8
Step 8

8. Using a slotted spoon, place the donuts on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Once the donuts have cooled, proceed to decorate them.
- 9
Step 9

9. Take your favorite chocolate bars—I chose a small amount of each: milk, dark, and white chocolate. Pour a couple of tablespoons of hot cream over the chocolate and mash with a spoon. Alternatively, you can use a microwave or melt it over a water bath.

Step 10

10. You can add a drop of food coloring to the white chocolate to make the donuts brightly colored. You can spread the melted chocolate onto the donuts using a silicone brush, but I prefer dipping the donut directly into the chocolate.

Step 11

11. You can decorate it with anything you like; I used colored sprinkles. Wait until the chocolate glaze sets slightly, then enjoy :)
