Amaranth crackers
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. Amaranth crackers are often found on store shelves. You can make them yourself, and in my opinion, the result is much better than dry and brittle store-bought crackers. To make amaranth crackers, we will need amaranth grain or groats. Flour can be made from the groats using a blender. Adding potatoes is optional; however, if you omit them, you'll need to add more water. The baking is ready. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Boil the potatoes; you can cook them in their skins, or you can peel them.
- 2
Step 2

Sift the flour. If you couldn't find amaranth flour but only amaranth grain, simply grind it in a blender to obtain amaranth flour.
- 3
Step 3

Mash the potatoes into a puree and add to the flour. Also add chopped chili or dried chili (it doesn't matter which one you use), cumin, and spices to taste.
- 4
Step 4

Mix everything well.
- 5
Step 5

Add a spoon or two of water if the dough is difficult to mix. It should turn out dense and smooth.
- 6
Step 6

Divide the dough into two or three parts.
- 7
Step 7

You can directly flatten it into a pancake with your hands.
- 8
Step 8

The flatbread turns out quite thin.
- 9
Step 9

Sauté it in a small amount of oil in a heated pan.
- 10
Step 10

On both sides, until golden brown.
- 11
Step 11

You can cut the ready amaranth crackers into smaller pieces for easy dipping into sauce. Or simply serve them as they are.
