    Wash the vegetables and pat them dry. Cut the tomatoes into quarters and remove the cores.

    Peel the garlic and horseradish and chop them finely. Remove the stems and seeds from the peppers. Put all the vegetables in a blender and blend until smooth.

    Transfer the vegetable mixture to a pot, add salt and sugar, and pour in the oil. Over low heat, bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook for another 5 minutes; a bay leaf may be added.
