Apricot sauce
Description
A delicious addition to everyday and festive dishes. Honestly, this apricot sauce was originally made to serve with porridge. However, just out of curiosity, I tried it with meat... and was amazed at how delicious it was :) Of course, not everyone enjoys sweet and sour sauces with meat, but if you're not afraid of a little exotic twist—give it a try, you won't regret it. Serve the sauce with meat, fish, or use it as a salad dressing.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Rinse the dried apricots, then cover with cold water and soak for 2-3 hours.
- 2
Step 2

Place the pot with the same water over medium heat, bring to a boil, and simmer for 15–25 minutes. The dried apricots should soften.
- 3
Step 3

Drain the remaining water from the apricots, then rub them through a sieve or blend in a blender.
- 4
Step 4

Add sugar (1 cup of sugar is added in the photo because the sauce was prepared for a porridge. If you plan to serve the sauce with meat, one teaspoon is enough), salt, and spices to taste.
- 5
Step 5

Now place the mashed apricots with sugar and spices over heat, bring to a boil, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- 6
Step 6

Remove from heat, cool, and serve. :)
