Salted mackerel
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to make. Almost everyone loves salted fish, but store-bought isn’t always tasty or good quality. I’ll gladly tell you how. It can be served warm or chilled.
Instructions

Step 1

If the fish is frozen, thaw it in the refrigerator. Then cut the mackerel along the spine and remove the backbone, head, and tail.

Remove the innards and all the bones. Then carefully rinse the fillet and dry it thoroughly.

Next, mix the salt, paprika, mustard, ground allspice, and chopped bay leaf.

Sprinkle the fillets with the mixture, slice the garlic into thin slices, and place them on one half of the mackerel.

Step 5

Fold one half of the fillet onto the other and sprinkle the spice mixture on top again.

Step 6

Wrap the fish tightly in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, then in the freezer for at least 24 hours.
