Salsa for winter

60 min4 serv.20 февр. 2026 г.

Description

Perfectly complements meat, poultry, and side dishes. My friend, a big fan of spicy sauces, shared this recipe for winter salsa—exactly this spicy and delicious one—with me. We prepared it together. If you can't wait to try the salsa, you can open a jar after just three days. Instead of sugar, you can add honey. Don't forget to add chili pepper (any type you like). Enjoy! The sauce is ready. Store in the refrigerator and serve with dishes.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients. Finely chop all the vegetables, even the garlic.

  2. 2

    Step 2

Take a large pot—onion will go in first. Add all the chopped onion.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Then add bell pepper, garlic, sugar, salt, and ground cumin. I used bell peppers of two colors to make the salsa bright for winter storage.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Finely chop the fresh cilantro and add it to the pot with the vegetables. Place the tomato paste on top.

  5. 5

    Mix everything well.

    Step 6

    Step 6

Now add the finely chopped tomatoes to the pot with the vegetables.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

Let the salsa sit for a while, allowing the vegetables to marinate and release excess juice.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

Transfer the vegetables from the pot to another bowl, passing them through a sieve or colander. Drain the remaining juice from the pot.

  9. 9

    Step 9

    Step 9

Squeeze the juice from the lemons.

  10. 10

    Step 10

    Step 10

Prepare distilled jars in which you will seal the salsa. Pour 1-2 teaspoons of lemon juice into each jar.

  11. 11

    Step 11

    Step 11

Carefully distribute the salsa into jars.

  12. 12

    Step 12

    Step 12

Place the jars in a pot of water. Salsa for winter should be boiled in hot water for 30 minutes.

  13. 13

    Step 13

    Step 13

Turn the hot jars upside down and wrap them in a blanket. Let them cool. Your salsa for winter will be the best appetizer on the table.
